On March 11, 2026, scientists from the Division of Soil and Regional Engineering (DSRE), Agricultural Engineering, at ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, hosted an interactive session with a team from MathWorks, Kolkata. The session focused on MATLAB and SolidWorks software applications, AI integration in agriculture, collaborative research opportunities with MathWorks, and tailored training programs for agricultural scientists. It engaged researchers in leveraging MATLAB for data analysis, simulation, and AI-driven modeling, while SolidWorks demonstrations highlighted its role in ergonomic farm machinery design aligning with regional needs for sustainable mechanization in Northeast India. The session was coordinated by Dr. Hijam Jiten Singh, Dr. Huidrom Dayananda Singh, and Er. Ajaykumar Kethavath.
